 John Buckley, Buckley Law

I am John Buckley, Secretary and Board Member of the Senior Resource Council since 2009. I have lived in Colorado Springs off and on since 1973, when I came here to attend the USAF Academy. I returned permanently with my family in 1994. I am a counselor-at-law at Buckley Forbush, PLLC (www.buckleylaw.com). I use the term "counselor" because it describes what I do best and I want to distinguish myself from the negative stereotypes of my chosen calling. I spend my time advising clients in estate planning, business planning and tax planning. More than half of my client base are seasoned citizens over the age of 60. My wife Melinda is my Legal Administrator, so we are a family business. In addition to SRC, I acted as legal counsel in forming the Colorado Parkinson Foundation, Inc., and I sit on its Board. I am an active Rotarian, and I sit on the Financial Development Committee of the YMCA of the Rockies. I am a retired Air Force Reserve officer, and the father of three adult children, including a disabled combat veteran who did three tours in the Global War On Terror. I am the proud grandfather of three beautiful girls under the age of 4. I began serving seniors when I graduated from law school in 1990. The senior industry is changing rapidly, as my generation joins the ranks of seasoned citizens. I want to help formulate solutions focused upon meeting the needs of our city's seasoned citizens. I believe that the SRC provides all of us with a great forum for making a difference in the lives of seniors.

Lucy Crandall, Seniors Blue Book, Past President

Lucy Crandall has a passion for seniors. Having sat on many SRC Event Committees for several years, Lucy joined the SRC Board of Directors in 2009 and served as Board Chair in 2011.  Lucy has served the senior community for over a decade via employment with a home health care agency. This allowed Lucy time to get to know the SRC Events and understand the mission of the SRC. The organization seemed the right fit for Lucy to contribute her energy and time. She is currently the Regional Director for the Seniors Blue Book, again allowing her to continue the mission of education and choice. Lucy received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from UCCS in 2001. Though she grew up in Burbank, California, Lucy and her husband Jim, moved to the Springs in 1994 where they are happily raising their 15 year old son. During free time, Lucy and her family enjoy watching and playing hockey, the beautiful outdoors of Colorado, and playing with the family dogs, Crosby, Ovechekin and The Beaver Dog.
